ZEEL’s VoD platform ZEE5 to launch in Feb
MUMBAI: ZEEL’s video on demand (VoD) platform ZEE5 will launch in February, ZEEL MD and CEO Punit Goenka has informed.
Talking about the Q3 results, Goenka said that the digital platforms are driving incremental video consumption which represents another growth opportunity for content monetization.
“Our new digital platform, ZEE5, scheduled to be launched in February, will enable us to capture this growth,” he said.
The new platform will replace its existing subscription and ad-based platforms DittoTV and OZEE.
DittoTV and OZEE subscribers will be auto-upgraded to the new platform. ZEE5 will be built on five pillars, technology, content, regional focus and revenue model.
The new platform will have digital first, exclusive content and a strong movie library. It will have three revenue models SVOD, AVOD, and TVOD.
Besides hosting regional content, the platform will also have a local language user interface (UI). It will also have intuitive UI and strong recommendation engine.
ZEE5, which is available in test version on Google Play Store, will have multiple subscription plans.
The VoD platform has listed 22 types of subscription plans divided into telco plan, live TV, iOS plan, SVOD plan and full access plan.
The digital platform has five migration plans for Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, BSNL, and Z5.
