ZEE5 to launch 72 originals in six languages till March 2020
MUMBAI: ZEEL-owned video on demand (VoD) platform ZEE5, which celebrated its first anniversary on 14th February, has revealed that it will launch 72 originals across six languages in the next one year till 2020. This includes shows across multiple genres and languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, and Malayalam.
ZEE5 unveiled the logos of 19 shows in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, and Malayalam. Out of the 19 shows that have been unveiled 11 are in Hindi while the rest are in the regional languages.
The Hindi shows include Rangbaaz Season 2, Karenjit Kaur Season 3 (with Sunny Leone), High Priestess (Amala Akkineni’s digital debut), Skyfire, The Final Call (starring Arjun Rampal and Sakshi Tanwar), Mystic Rose, The Sholay Girl (starring Bidita Baig), Mirror (a short film), 377 (starring Maanvi Gangroo and others), Poison (starring Arbaaz Khan, Freddy Daruwala, Tanuj Virwani), Bandit Queen
The Telugu shows which have been unveiled are ‘Ms Subbulakshmi’ (starring Lakshmi Manchu) and ‘G.O.D. – Gangs of Dharmapuri’ (starring Aditya). The Marathi shows include ‘Sex, Drugs and Theatre’ and ‘Hutatma’ (starring Anjali Patil, Vaibhav Tatvavadi & Abhay Mahajan).
The two Malayalam shows include ‘Aarpoo’ and ‘Porn Ok Please’. In Tamil, the logo of ‘Postman’ has been unveiled while the Bengali show is ‘Sharate Aaj’ (starring Parambrata Chatterjee, Payal Sarkar and Riddhi Sen).
To celebrate the anniversary, ZEE5 has launched a special 30% discount on both annual packs – all access Rs 999/- and regional Rs 499. This is applicable from 14th February to 31st March; in case subscribers pay via their Paytm account, they will get an additional 50% cash back on these rates.
