Zee Keralam to go on-air from 26 Nov on cable, DTH platforms
MUMBAI: Media conglomerate ZEEL will launch its Malayalam GEC Zee Keralam and its high definition (HD) variant Zee Keralam HD on all cable and direct to home (DTH) platforms from 26 November.
Zee Keralam has got on board five channel partners including Fogg Body Spray, Chungath Jewellery, Nerolac Healthy Home Paints, 7Up and Palmolive.
Zee Keralam’s content will be family inclusive and culturally rooted to Kerala that will bring together generations. The channel will have seven fiction shows, three non-fiction shows, and one-morning show as part of its programming line-up.
The channel will explore topics such as migration-led family structures and dying art forms like Bale. Furthermore, the channel has a strong movie line-up that includes blockbusters like Mohanlal, Hey Jude, Aami and Madhuraraja to name a few.
With its tagline, ‘Neithedukkam Jeevitha Vismayangal’ (Let’s weave wonders in life), Zee Keralam will stand for progressive content that will bring together generations through endearing stories of ordinary people who are creating an extraordinary destiny.
ZEEL MD and CEO Punit Goenka had earlier stated that the company’s overall market share has the potential to grow further with the launch of its Malayalam GEC. In Q2 FY19, ZEEL had an all-India viewership share of 19.9% in non-sports entertainment segment.
ZEEL South cluster head Siju Prabhakaran had earlier commented that the south Cluster has been growing exponentially for ZEEL as a network in the last few years and with the launch of Zee Keralam, they are certain that the region will continue to perform at a high growth rate.
“We set foot in the South with our first GEC – Zee Telugu in 2005, followed by Zee Kannada, Zee Tamil, and Zee Cinemalu. Since then we have emerged as market leaders in every state, winning the hearts of millions our South Indian viewers across the world. We hope to continue the upward growth trend with the launch of Zee Keralam,” he stated.
Zee Keralam is set to launch with an extensive multimedia campaign covering all major districts of Kerala and also is targeting complete reach and accessibility throughout all distribution platforms.
