MUMBAI: ‘Rishten mein toh hum tumhare baap lagte hain…Naam hain Shahenshah’, be it anywhere in the world, whenever somebody comes across this dialogue, the one and only name that comes on one’s mind is ‘Amitabh Bachchan’. In the year 1969, Bollywood found its shining star in Amitabh Bachchan who made a name for himself and has been the ‘Shahenshah’ of Bollywood since then. With over 200 blockbuster movies under his belt, Amitabh Bachchan till date manages to swoon the audience with his star appeal, powerful acting, strong baritone and towering personality. Having entertained viewers for over 5 decades with his spectacular performance, the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan recently was selected as the recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke award.
Zee Classic with its brand promise Woh Zamana Kare Deewana celebrates the original Bollywood’s angry young man’s 77th birthday with a specially curated week-long festival ‘Har Din Bachchan’ from 7th to 11th October at 7 pm.
Kickstarting the birthday celebrations with a bang is the 1986 blockbuster – Aakhree Raasta on 7th October. The action-packed crime drama narrates the story of a man who sets out to take revenge from his wife’s rapists. For this movie, Big B had donned the dual roles of a father and son which garnered him a lot of appreciation for his spectacular performance. Next in line is Andhaa Kaanoon on 8th October that saw superstars Amitabh and Rajnikanth come together for the first time. The film was a box office hit and received accolades for some power packed action sequences.
One of the top grossers of 1978, Trishul will air on 9th October. This revenge drama and Bachchan’s performance garnered a boisterous response from the audience as his character Vijay became a household name. Inspired by the story of a notorious Indian conman, Mr.Natwarlal saw Big B experiment with his voice, when he sang the children’s song ‘Mere Paas Aao Mera Dosto Ek Qissa Suno’ which was quite a rage at that time. This movie will telecast on 10th October. Last but not the least, on 11th October, Zee Classic will air the cult classic Deewaar that is known for the iconic dialogue ‘Mere paas Maa hai’. The story beautifully narrates the lives of impoverished brothers who struggle to survive in the slums of Bombay, and eventually find themselves on opposing sides of the law.
