Wired broadband subs increased 1.34% in March to 17.95 mn
MUMBAI: The number of wired broadband subscribers has increased 1.34% to 17.95 million in March compared to 17.72 million, according to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) telecom subscription data.
As on 31st March 2018, the top five Wired Broadband Service providers were BSNL (9.30 million), Bharti Airtel (2.18 million), Atria Convergence Technologies (1.31 million), MTNL (0.87 million) and Hathway Cable & Datacom (0.78 million).
As per the reports received from 262 operators as compared to 153 operators in the previous month, the number of broadband subscribers increased from 392.06 million at the end of Feb-18 to 412.60 million at the end of Mar-18 with a monthly growth rate of 5.24%.
Top five service providers constituted 95.23% market share of the total broadband subscribers at the end of Mar-18. These service providers were Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (186.56 million), Bharti Airtel (85.67 million), Vodafone (59.77 million), Idea Cellular (39.84 million) and BSNL (21.08 million).
The top five Wireless Broadband Service providers were Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (186.56 million), Bharti Airtel (83.49 million), Vodafone (59.76 million), Idea Cellular (39.83 million) and BSNL (11.78 million).
