Vuclip’s original series targeted at South Asians in ME to simulcast on Viu, Zee TV ME
MUMBAI: Video on demand (VoD) provider Vuclip has unveiled its first original series targeting South Asian expats in the Middle East. Titled ‘Music Garage’, the web series will on Vuclip’s over the top (OTT) platform Viu. The show will have a simultaneous broadcast on Zee TV Middle East.
‘Music Garage’, produced by Elite Films, is an eight-episode series that will feature six aspiring bands and singers handpicked from across the region. The artist line-up includes performers, originating from UAE, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Turkey, and Tajikistan, and will perform in the South Asian languages of Hindi and Urdu.
“Launching Music Garage is a prominent milestone for Viu and is a testament to our mission to create compelling content for specific audiences in this very diverse market. Music Garage also gives us an opportunity to profile great talent in the region that might otherwise not have the benefit of this exposure,” commented Vuclip MENA VP content and brand marketing Wesam Kattan.
One band and one singer from a line-up of six participating bands and singers will be given an opportunity to showcase their talent in each episode. The seventh episode will recap all performances and the grand finale will feature the most voted male singer, female singer and the top voted band. Performances will be open to public voting from the first to the seventh episode. Viewers can tune into 106.2 Big FM radio to listen to interviews with the performers and viewers can also share their votes via a WhatsApp message to the station.
