Vice India appoints Chanpreet Arora as CEO
MUMBAI: Vice India, the joint venture (JV) between Times Group and Vice Media, has appointed Chanpreet Arora as the chief executive office (CEO) effective January.
Prior to her appointment, Arora was the head revenue strategy and sales operations at Times Internet.
Earlier, Vice India had appointed Pragya Tiwari is the editor-in-chief and Samira Kanwar as the head of video.
Vice India is expected to launch in early 2018. Springtide Infotainment Media, the JV company, has applied for two licences with the ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB).
The Vice-Times Group deal involves launching TV channel Viceland in India under a different name featuring a mix of local and international content. In addition to TV, the JV will also produce and distribute local programming for online and mobile.
Vice is also setting up new offices in Mumbai and Delhi which will include a studio producing scripted, film, news and culture content from India for different platforms. Vice India will also offer content sub-titled in Hindi.
