Viasys Digital Networks to launch Marathi news channel with Bharatkumar Raut as editor
MUMBAI: Viasys Digital Networks is entering the TV broadcasting space with the launch of Marathi news channel Time Maharashtra. The channel will be helmed by veteran journalist and former Member of Parliament (MP) of Rajya Sabha Bharatkumar Raut as its Editor-in-Chief.
Time Maharashtra is the latest channel to launch in the crowded Marathi TV news space. Being a late entrant, the channel will have to compete against established brands like ABP Majha, Zee 24 Taas, Saam TV, TV9 Marathi and News18 Lokmat.
The channel will be a free-to-air (FTA) channel and will be carried on all leading platforms. In a statement, the channel said it will feature news on the ever expanding and new developing areas in Maharashtra and its outskirts.
The channel aims to cater to all sections of society in Maharashtra and Marathi speaking diaspora. The channel will provide universal viewership globally for all age groups and gender. Raut is approaching the channel with the vision – ‘And we feed something for everybody and everything for anybody’.
Viasys Digital Networks is into Mobile VAS & Utility Solutions, WEB, WAP, Gaming & Application Solutions Company. The company has three directors namely Sudesh Ramkrishna Bhosle, Mayur Prakash Gujar, and Rambhau Kashiram Sakpal.
