Unreal Crew emerges victorious on #DanceKaJungistaan

MUMBAI: After 16 long, exciting weeks, Dance India Dance Season 7 drew to a close over the weekend, with some of the best, biggest and most thrilling moments the season had to offer. Over the years, Dance India Dance, has revolutionized the landscape of dance in India, making it a mainstream career choice for millions. The pioneering dance reality show, this weekend, crowned Unreal Crew the victor in this season’s ‘Battle of Champions’, amidst much pomp and celebration. Unreal Crew from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was presented with the coveted Dance India Dance trophy and along with a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakhs.

Finalists – ‘I am Hip Hop Kids’ and Pranshu-Kuldeep – were announced as the first and second runners-up respectively and were also awarded with cash prizes to celebrate their journey and achievements on the show. The show’s panel of charismatic judges – including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Raftaar and Bosco – presided over the diverse acts of the Top 12 contestants – representing the East, West, North and South zones of India –  who had put their hearts into their performances in a bid to be the best on this DanceKaJungistaan.

Speaking about their victory, Unreal Crew, said, “It is a great honour to be titled as ‘Dance India Dance Champions. We have learnt a lot from our fellow contestants and esteemed judges in this season who have helped us push our boundaries, helping us move a step closer to our goal to win this battle. With this prestigious title, we are set to further our journey into become the most popular and awarded dance crew of India.”

The Grand Finale of Dance India Dance delivered a powerful, touching and appropriately emotional coming together of talent and passion. Celebrating 10 years of DID-driven dance mania in the nation, the finale of the show was graced by gorgeous diva Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar as a part of their promotional tour for their upcoming movie ‘The Sky is Pink’. The camaraderie of the judges, and the antics of host Karan Wahi set the tone for what turned out to be the most captivating evening. Living up to the theme, the episode also brought together the most loved Dance India Dance alumni Terence Lewis. Battling their way to the top though, were the Top 5 finalists – Unreal Crew, I am Hip Hop Crew, Akshay Pal, Pranshu and Kuldeep, who floored the judges and viewers with their exemplary skills and incredible talent.
