TVP’s digital summit to make 4th stop at Patna on 1 September

MUMBAI:’s on-ground initiative GroundPost will have its fourth stop at Patna, the capital of Bihar and the second largest city in Eastern India.

After having successful events in Solapur (Maharashtra), Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and Pune (Maharashtra), the Patna event is set to take place on 1 September.

patna eventGroundPost’s Patna event will see industry stalwarts share their experiences of and learning from the first two phases of digitisation, and how the industry can tackle contentious issues to move forward with billing and packaging.

Patna is the only city in Bihar which was part of Phase II of the digital addressable system (DAS) drive. At the day-long summit, industry experts will give their views on a number of issues including carriage, content cost, opportunities, scope of regional channels, billing, packaging, etc.

The Patna event features a wide range of speakers including TRAI member Dr Vijaylakshmy K Gupta, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd’s K Jayaraman, Siti Cable Kolkata’s Suresh Sethiya, Darsh Digital’s Sushil Kumar, Siti Cable’s Nitin Mehra, GTPL’s Amitabh Singh Rana, MSM Discovery’s Jagraj Singh Sangera and IndiaCast’s Omesh Uppal.

The event is expected to be attended by over 250 delegates that include local cable operators (LCOs), independent multi-system operators (MSOs) and broadcasters.

The event will begin with a presentation by co-founder and CEO Himanshu Dhoreliya, followed by Patna research synopsis to be presented by co-founder and editor-in-chief Sibabrata Das.

TRAI member Dr Gupta and ZEEL’s Jayaraman will deliver the the keynote addresses at the event. The panel discussions will focus on Bihar as a state for expansion and the dynamics of the Patna market.

Adding entertainment to the event will be the cast of Colors’ latest fiction show ‘Udan’.

The Patna market has its own opportunities and challenges, and yet it is a nascent market as far as cable broadband is concerned. I am sure we will have a fruitful discussion on how to monetise digitisation,” said Dhoreliya.

The stated objective of GroundPost is to get key stakeholders on a single platform to discuss and deliberate on the way forward to monetise cable TV digitisation.
