TV distribution veteran Gaurav Saharan makes it big in arm wrestling

MUMBAI: After spending 20+ years in the media industry, TV distribution industry veteran Gaurav Saharan is currently pursuing his passion for arm wrestling.

Saharan was recently selected to represent Team India in the 41st World Arm Wrestling Championship at Constanta Romania from 26th October to 4th November 2019 as Player/Referee.

The selection comes in the wake of Saharan winning bronze in the 43rd National Arm Wrestling, which was held between 19th-23rd June at Bhilai, Chhatisgarh. The Indian Arm Wrestling Federation which is affiliated to World Arm Wrestling Federation is the governing body of the sport in India.

The 46-year-old Gurgaon resident has spent 20 years in broadcast media. He has had stints with companies like MSM Discovery, Taj Television, Saharan One, Zee Turner, UTV, and IndiaCast Media Distribution.

He started his own media consultancy firm SUG Media Solutions in July 2013 and is currently associated with Nepal-based cable TV company Divine Stream Network. He is also the co-founder of a health-tech startup Scio Health.
