Total wired broadband customers declined to 18.41 mn in April: TRAI
MUMBAI: The total number of wired broadband customers has dropped 0.04% to 18.41 million April as against 18.42 million in March, according to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) telecom subscription report.
The top five Wired Broadband Service providers were BSNL (9.15 million), Bharti Airtel (2.38 million), Atria Convergence Technologies (1.43 million), Hathway Cable & Datacom (0.82 million) and MTNL (0.75 million).
As per the reports received from 317 operators in the month of April 2019, the number of broadband subscribers increased from 563.31 million at the end of Mar-19 to 571.95 million at the end of Apr-19 with a monthly growth rate of 1.53%.
Top five service providers constituted 98.68% market share of the total broadband subscribers at the end of Apr-19. These service providers were Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (314.81 million), Bharti Airtel (115.71 million), Vodafone Idea (109.66 million), BSNL (22.29 million) and Tata Tele. Group (1.94 million).
The top five Wireless Broadband Service providers were Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (314.81 million), Bharti Airtel (113.33 million), Vodafone Idea (109.64 million), BSNL (12.39 million) and Tata Teleservices (1.54 million).
