Total TV impressions for week 19 drops to 14.6 bn; Dangal reclaims top spot across genres
MUMBAI: The total TV impressions for week 19 has dropped to 14.6 billion compared to 15 billion in the previous week, as per BARC India data for India Urban 2+. The TV+OOH impressions have dropped to 14.8 billion from 15.2 billion in week 18.
Across genres top 10 channels
Dangal has overtaken Sun TV to become the number 1 channel. Star Sports 1 Hindi has moved to the second spot while Sun TV has slipped to the third position. Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has re-entered the top 10 table. Star Vijay has exited the table while Zee Tamil has dropped to the tenth spot.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in Urban + Rural HSM
Star Utsav replaced &TV at the tenth spot even as the rest of the table remained unchanged.
Top 5 programmes in U+R HSM
Star Plus’ ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ and Dangal’s ‘Mahima Shanidev Ki’ exchanged positions. Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ remained the most watched show.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in urban HSM
Star Bharat and Dangal exchanged positions while the rest of the table remained unchanged.
Top 5 programmes in urban HSM
Zee TV’s ‘Kundali Bhagya’ moved to the second spot while Star Plus’ ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ and ‘Kulffi Kumarr Bajewala’ moved up to the third and fourth positions. Colors’ ‘Naagin 3’ dropped to the fifth position.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in rural HSM
The pecking order remained unchanged. Dangal dominated the table with three shows while Zee TV had two shows in the top 5 list.
Top 5 English news channels
Republic TV replaced DD India at the top spot while the latter dropped to the second position. CNN-News18 and India Today TV swapped positions.
Top 5 Hindi news channels in urban, rural, and U+R HSM
India TV and ABP News swapped positions in rural HSM.
There was no change in the pecking order in U+R and urban HSM.
Top 5 English business news channels
ET Now reclaimed the second position from BTVI. CNBC-TV18 maintained its hold at the top.
Hindi business news genre
The weekly impressions of the Hindi business news channels saw an increase.
