Total TV impressions for TV + OOH decline to 15.12 bn in week 16 of BARC ratings

MUMBAI: The total TV impressions for TV + OOH has dropped to 15.12 billion compared to 15.47 billion in the previous week, according to BARC India data for TG: India Urban 2+. The total TV impressions have fallen to 15 billion from 15.31 billion a week ago.

Star Sports 1 Hindi continued to dominate the top 10 channels table due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) telecast. It is followed by Dangal and Sun TV. Big Magic moved to fourth spot pushing Star Maa to the fifth position. Zee TV and Zee Tamil have swapped positions. Zee Telugu has entered the top 10 table while Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has moved out.

English/Hindi news genres

DD India has reclaimed the English news genre crown from Republic TV in week 16 of BARC India ratings. Republic TV has dropped to the second position followed by Times Now, India Today Television and CNN News18 in that order.

Hindi News channel Aaj Tak continues with its leading position in all three segments, Urban HSM, Rural HSM and, Urban + Rural HSM.

In U+R HSM, News18 India has re-entered while ABP News has dropped from the top 5 table. Zee News has dropped to the fifth spot. In urban HSM, the top three remained unchanged while Republic Bharat and Zee News exchanged positions. In rural HSM, India TV and Republic Bharat swapped positions.

Hindi News Urban, top three channels Aaj Tak, India TV, and News18 India remained at their same position. Republic Bharat and Zee News exchanged their place in 4th and 5th position.

The weekly impressions of the English and Hindi business news channel saw a drop while the pecking order remained unchanged.

Hindi GECs

There is no change in the pecking order in U+R HSM and urban HSM. Dangal TV and Star Plus have retained their numero uno positions in the two markets.

In rural HSM, DD National replaced Star Utsav in the tenth position while the rest of the table remained unchanged.

In U+R HSM, Dangal TV’s ‘Ramayan’ is the most watched show. Dangal TV and Colors dominate the table with two shows each. Colors’ ‘Naagin 3’ is at the fifth spot.

In urban HSM, SET’s ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ has made it to the top position displacing Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ to the second spot. SET’s ‘Super Dancer Chapter 3’ has also entered the table while Zee TV’s ‘Kundali Bhagya’ has moved out of the list.

In rural HSM, Big Magic’s ‘Raavi Aur Magic Mobile’ replaced ‘Maharakshak Aryan’ at the fourth position. The rest of the table remained unchanged.

Hindi movie channels

The pecking order remained unchanged in urban and rural HSM. In U+R HSM, Star Gold and B4U Movies swapped positions while the rest of the channels retained their respective positions.
