Sun TV Network Q4 standalone net profit drops to Rs 283.07 cr

MUMBAI: Sun TV Network’s net profit for the quarter ended 31st March has seen a slight drop at Rs. 283.07 crore compared to Rs 289.7 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

EBITDA for the quarter ended 31st March 2019 was up 16% at Rs. 608.40 crore as against Rs. 522.40 crore.

The revenue for the quarter was up by 24% at Rs. 888.88 crore as against Rs. 716.95 crore. The subscription revenue for the quarter was up by 4 % at Rs. 319.77 crore as against Rs. 308.84 crore.

For the year ended 31st March 2019, the net profit was up by 28% at Rs. 1,394.86 crore as against Rs. 1,093.04 crore in FY18. EBITDA for the year ended 31st March was up 31% at Rs. 2.564.31 crore as against Rs. 1,959.48 crore.

The standalone revenue was up by 28% at Rs. 3,663.27 crore as against Rs. 2,862.45 crore. The ad revenue for the year grew by 9% at Rs. 1426.67 crore as against Rs. 1,309.33 crore.

The subscription revenue for the year continued to maintain a healthy growth increasing 16% at Rs. 1,320.43 crore as against Rs. 1,141.19 crore.

The consolidated revenue for the fiscal was up by 28% at Rs. 3,782.54 crore as against Rs. 2,963.02 crore. EBITDA was up 30% at Rs. 2,606.68 crore as against Rs. 2,003.76 crore. The net profit was up by 26% at Rs. 1,433.68 crore as against Rs. 1,135.52 crore.

Sun TV Network is a leading TV broadcaster that operates TV channels across five languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Marathi. It also airs FM radio stations across India and owns the SunRisers Hyderabad franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
