Star World goes all-out to promote ‘Game of Thrones’ S8

MUMBAI: English GEC Star World, the official broadcaster of ‘Game of Thrones’ in India, is leaving no stone unturned to promote the eighth and final season of the iconic show. The show airs every Tuesday on the channel at 10 pm.

In order to remain true to the promise of ‘Home to all things GoT’ in India, the broadcaster is offering experiences to fans on-air as well as off-air.

The activities include on-ground, social media and collaborations. Through their on-ground property ‘GoT Quiz Nights’, Star World hosted 18 evenings across six cities where viewers got their knowledge of the show tested. All the while fans battled out for the coveted title of #TheGreatestFan of the series and the grand prize of NEXA S-Cross across Star World’s social media platforms.

In a collaboration with Indian fashion designer, Masaba, Star World will unveil the official #CreateForTheThrone Masaba X Game of Thrones line that consists of jewellery, apparel, tech accessories and more. The unveiling will give fans an opportunity to create their own tributes for GoT and submit their entries to @StarWorldIndia Instagram handle.

In order to take its offerings a notch higher, the channel has also organised GoT theme dinners, across key cities – Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. The exclusive dinners provide all invitees with an opportunity to experience the series in all its glory – the interiors, the set-up, the throne, a specially curated menu inspired by iconic scenes from the show and more.

In another activity to keep fans engaged and build anticipation for each episode, Star World is running a ‘#GOTProphecies’ contest across their social media handles. Here, viewers will be required to predict who gets sacrificed #ForTheThrone in every episode.
