Star Sports 1 Hindi grabs top position across genres as Indo-Pak match creates record
MUMBAI: Star Sports 1 Hindi has become the most watched channel across genres in week 25 of BARC India ratings due to the airing of India-Pakistan match. The channel has garnered a whopping 118.6 crore impressions.
Touted by many as one of India’s most dominant victories against Pakistan, the game had the entire country hooked with a massive 206 million fans tuning in to the Star network alone, versus 172 million viewers who tuned in for the ICC Champions Trophy finale played between the two teams.
The data is for TG 2+ U+R, Source: BARC (TV + OOH), excluding DD, Only Match Telecast Hours considered.
India’s unbeaten ICC CWC record against Pakistan (7-0) remains intact as The Men in Blue outclassed Pakistan in all departments and got one step closer to the Top 4 of the table.
Star Sports has seen a massive reach of 367 million viewers and 303 million average impressions recorded in the first three weeks of the tournament.
Dangal, which was leading the table, has fallen to the third position. Sun TV has moved to the second position while Zee TV has climbed to the fourth position.
Star Plus has also jumped to the fifth position from seventh in the previous week. Big Magic has fallen to the seventh position from the third position in the previous week.
Colors has moved up to the ninth position. Sony Entertainment Television (SET) was the new entrant to the table at 10th position replacing Sony Max.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in urban + rural HSM
In Urban + Rural (U+R) HSM, Zee TV has grabbed the second position from Big Magic pushing it to the fourth position. Star Plus moved up to the third position from fourth in the previous week. &TV replaced Star Utsav at the tenth position.
Top 5 shows in U+R HSM
Sony Sab’s ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ entered the table in U+R HSM. Zee TV’s ‘Kundali Bhagya’ was at the leading position followed by ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and Zee TV’s ‘Tujhse Hai Raabta’.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in urban HSM
Zee TV moved to the second position while Sony Sab slipped to the third position. SET moved up to the fifth position whereas Colors moved down to the fifth position.
Top 5 shows in urban HSM
In Urban HSM, Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ re-entered the table in the second position. Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ slipped to the third spot.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in rural HSM
In rural HSM, Colors and Sony Sab exchanged positions while the rest of the table remained unchanged.
Top 5 shows in rural HSM
Zee TV led the table with three shows. It was closely followed by Dangal which had two shows in the table.
