Star India president of consumer strategy and innovation Gayatri Yadav calls it quits

MUMBAI: Star India president consumer strategy and innovation Gayatri Yadav has called it quits after a stint of more than eight years. She is currently serving her notice period.

Gayatri had joined Star network in 2011 as Marketing Head and has led marketing of the network’s biggest and boldest moves like the launch of “Satyamev Jayate”, the refresh and expansion of Star Sports, the marketing launch of the Hotstar brand and working on the “Nayi Soch” brand plan on Star Plus while building a world-class Marketing team that stands apart in the sector.

As president consumer strategy and innovation, she was leading an agenda on Consumer Strategy and Innovation with a focus on Brand and Marketing Strategy and Big Data and Analytics for future growth.

Gayatri has over 20 years of experience in Marketing across Consumer Products and Media. Gayatri started her career in Procter and Gamble in Brand Management working across categories and brands and later joined General Mills where as Chief Marketing Officer she was responsible for launching Pillsbury and developing a strong and differentiated portfolio of brands creating multiple categories in the then nascent packaged foods market.

An alumna of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, Gayatri has been recognised as one of ‘India’s Best Brand Builders’, the leading ‘Marketer in Media and Entertainment’ in India, ‘India’s Best CMO’ and one of the ‘top 50 most successful women leaders’ in India.
