SPNI drops a-la-carte price of its three premier channels

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has become the latest to announce a reduction in the price of its premier entertainment channels. As part of ‘Ab India aur bhi Happy’ festive offer, the a-la-carte price of Sony Entertainment Television (SET), Sony Sab and Sony Max has been reduced to Rs 12 from Rs 19.

SPNI is the fourth broadcaster after Star India, ZEEL and Viacom18 to reduce the a-la-carte price of its premier channels.

In the wake of TRAI’s revised guidelines on TV channel tariffs, SPNI had launched a comprehensive consumer education campaign, #RishtaPakkaSamjho with Amitabh Bachchan to empower consumers to make an informed choice of the various pricing options, either on an à-la-carte basis or a combination/bouquet. This campaign successfully addressed the viewer’s concerns and dilemmas on channel subscription costs and maximum retail packs.
