SPE India appoints Shony Panjikaran as marketing director
MUMBAI: Film company Sony Pictures Entertainment India (SPE India) has appointed Shony Panjikaran as marketing director. He will be reporting to Sony Pictures Entertainment India MD Vivek Krishnani.
In his new role, he will be heading the marketing & promotions across Sony Picture Entertainment India’s Local and Hollywood slate in India.
He joins Sony Pictures India from Fox Star Studios, where he was senior VP marketing managing the Hollywood portfolio with films such as ‘Avatar’, ‘Deadpool’, ‘Life of Pi’ and the ‘X-Men’ franchise. He also spearheaded the strategy and media campaign for blockbuster Indian films like ‘Sanju’ and ‘Baaghi 2′ among others.
His appointment is in sync with Sony Pictures Entertainment India’s strategy to aggressively ramp up its local production and distribution slate even as it continues to successfully market and distribute its Hollywood titles.

His strong passion for cinema along with vast knowledge and strong capabilities makes him the perfect candidate to spearhead the marketing team.
