Sony ropes in five sponsors for Ind-Eng series

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has roped in five sponsors for the upcoming India-England series which kicks off on 3rd July.

Flipkart and Xiaomi have come on-board as the co-presenting sponsors while MRF, Uber, and Wild Stone are the associate sponsors.

The bi-lateral series featuring 5 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20Is will be played from 3rd July till 11 September.

The broadcaster has 300+ days of cricketing action from eight cricket boards till August 2019. The calendar includes four India series including the one with England.

SPNI will also air Ireland- India series featuring 2 T20Is on 27 and 29 June.

From 21 November till 18 January 2018, it will air the India-Australia series featuring 4 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20Is. The West Indies-India series will be held in July/August 2019.

The cricket matches will be aired across the sports networks on Sony Six, Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 2, and Sony Ten 3. The live coverage will be available in English and Hindi feeds.

Sony is also eyeing a jackpot of Rs 200 crore ad revenue from the FIFA World Cup 2018. The broadcaster has six main sponsors including Hero MotoCorp and Mutual Funds as the co-presenting sponsor and Amul, Uber, Carlsberg, and Indeed as special partners.

The sports cluster of Sony Pictures Networks comprises 11 channels. Sony has rights to broadcast international cricket series from South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. It also acquired Australia and England cricket rights in the last seven months.

It also rights to FIFA, UEFA, LaLiga, Serie A, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, The Australian Open, The NBA, Moto GP, The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and the European and Asian PGA Golf events.
