SET becomes no. 1 in urban HSM in week 38 thanks to KBC 11, TKSS
MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has become the number 1 Hindi GEC in urban HSM thanks to the strong performance of its non-fiction shows ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 11‘ and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show‘ (TKSS). SET’s home-grown singing reality show ‘Superstar Singer‘ and fiction shows have also helped in pushing the channel’s viewership up.
As per BARC India data for week 38, SET, with 52.05 crore impressions, displaced Star Plus from the top position. Star Plus dropped to the second position with 47.1 crore impressions. Star Utsav replaced Sony Pal in the tenth position. The rest of the positions remained unchanged.

Zee TV’s ‘Kundali Bhagya’ was at the top position followed by Star Plus‘ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai‘. SET’s KBC 11 and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show‘ were the at the third and fourth positions. Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ fell to the fifth spot.

SET moved to the third position pushing Zee TV to the fourth spot. Star Utsav replaced &tv at the tenth position.

Dangal’s ‘Bandini’ became the top show followed by ‘Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan Sri Krishna’, ‘Rehna Hai Teri Palko Ki Chhaon Mein’, and ‘Mahima Shanidevi Ki’. Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was in the fifth spot.
Top 10 channels across genres
Both Star Plus and SET moved one rank up while Star Maa and Zee TV slid by a rank. Colors and Star Vijay moved up to the eighth and ninth positions respectively while B4U Kadak fell to the tenth spot.
Total TV impressions
The total TV impressions for week 38 remained unchanged to 14.6 billion. During the week under review, TV + OOH impressions stood at 14.7 billion compared to 14.6 billion in the previous week.
