Raj Nayak floats new media venture House of Cheer
MUMBAI: Media veteran Raj Nayak has launched a new venture after parting ways with Viacom18. His media company has been named House of Cheer and has the tagline create, curate and consult.
Nayak floated House of Cheer Networks Pvt Ltd on 24th May along with Radhika Palkar. He is the founder and MD of the company.
“On this auspicious day, I am happy to announce the arrival of my new baby! Hoping to share happiness & spread cheer as we go along. Please wish us good luck as we embark on our new exciting journey,” Nayak posted on his Twitter account.
Nayak is an industry veteran with a career spanning over two decades across profiles in the media & entertainment space. He is also one of the most highly regarded thought leaders in the advertising, marketing and media circles in India.
He had a seven-year stint at Viacom18 in different roles. He quit the company in November 2018. He joined Viacom18 as CEO of Colors.
Nayak began his career with Tata Economic Consultancy Services and has since worked in various capacities both in the print & electronic media.
In 1993 Raj joined Star TV Group as Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing where he spent 10 years and was responsible for strategising, packaging and marketing of all the Star TV channels and for the group’s advertising revenue.
Subsequently, he joined NDTV Media as CEO & a minority stakeholder in the company and helped set up the company. His entrepreneurial ability soon lead him to set up his own independent entrepreneurial venture AIDEM Ventures as Founder and Managing Director.
He has also been part of industry bodies like The Advertising Club, International Advertising Association (IAA) – India Chapter, Media Research Users Council (MRUC) and The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF). He also holds the Co-Chair at the PromaxBDA.
