MUMBAI: India’s leading FM radio station Radio Mirchi has expanded its footprint in the US with the launch of its stations in two new cities – Cleveland, OH and Columbus, OH. Stations in Atlanta, GA and St. Louis, MO are expected to launch in the next few days.

Targeted at the South Asian diaspora, the 24-hour stations play a winning combination of the best in Bollywood music, infotainment and comedy. The show hosts who promise to keep listeners entertained are Mirchi Khushi (on Mirchi Mornings from 7 AM – 10 AM), Mirchi Shruti (on Teekhi Mirchi from 10 AM – 1 PM), Mirchi Arjith (on 90s Not Out from 1 PM – 4 PM), Mirchi Srit (on Sunset Samosa from 4 PM – 7 PM), Mirchi Sayema (on Purani Jeans from 7 PM – 10 PM) and Mirchi Rochie (on Mirchi Instapyaar from 10 PM – 1 AM).
The Radio Mirchi brand and content in Raleigh-Durham, NC; Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, PA; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Atlanta, GA; and St. Louis, MO are licensed to Arohi Media.
Arohi Media CEO Ravi Cherukuri said, “Our vision is to bring the South Asian communities together by providing them with a common platform of news, talk and Bollywood music and we could not think of a better way to do this than this partnership with Mirchi. As we know, HD radio offers DTS surround sound and better signal quality than even FM. Listeners can access it in their cars and most have HD sets pre-installed in them. So all they have to do is turn them on!”
Through this partnership, Arohi Media wants to create a quality home entertainment radio network specifically for South Asians and toward this end has aggressive plans to ramp up the Mirchi brand in the US by expanding to more than 15 cities by December 2019.
Radio Mirchi MD & CEO Prashant Panday commented, “We are very excited to expand our network in the US with these new stations. We hope that the diaspora who we cater to connect with and enjoy the content we put out on air!”
