Puducherry govt directs MSOs, LCOs to stop transmitting analogue signals from 30 April

MUMBAI: The Puducherry government has directed multi system operators (MSOs) and local cable operators (LCOs) to stop transmitting analogue signals from 30 April.

The state government stated that the signals have to be transmitted only through digital mode from 30 April.

The government has also asked the authorised officers to ensure compliance of the order and take action against the violation as per the provisions of the Cable TV Networks Regulation Act 1995.

The Department of Revenue and Disaster Management has also directed authorised officers to furnish a status report on the compliance of the order by the MSOs and LCOs.

“Further, it is also instructed all the Multi System Operators and cable TV operators shall transmit only through digital addressable system mode and completely desist transmission through analog mode on or before 30.04.2018 in Puducherry and Oulgaret Municipal limits,” the department said in the memorandum to the MSOs and LCOs.

It has also directed the MSOs and LCOs to transmit 10 channels namely Kalaignar TV, Jaya TV, DD Sports, Colors, Captain TV, Makkal TV, Vijay Super, Zee Tamil, Thanthi TV, and Chutti TV only through digital mode from 13 April.
