Netflix’s ‘Lust Stories’, ‘Sacred Games’ among Indian shows nominated for 2019 Intl Emmy Awards
MUMBAI: Internet TV network Netflix’s shows ‘Lust Stories’ and ‘Sacred Games’ are among the Indian shows nominated for the 2019 International Emmy Awards. Overall there are 44 Nominees across 11 categories and 21 countries. ‘Sacred Games’ has been nominated for best drama series. Radhika Apte has been nominated for ‘Lust Stories’. ‘Lust Stories’ scored another nomination in the TV Movie/ Miniseries category.
Meanwhile Greymatter Entertainment’s ‘The Remix – India’ has been nominated in the non-scripted entertainment category. One of the nominees in the documentary category is called ‘Witness: India’s Forbidden Love’ for Qatar and comes from Al Jazeera English / Grain Media.
The documentary is Kausalya accusing her parents of orchestrating an honour killing of her husband. The documentary follows Kausalya as she fights for justice through the courts, testifying against her parents in a trial where they face the death penalty.
Winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony on 25th November 2019 at the Hilton New York Hotel. Nominees come from 21 countries including India, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Qatar, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the UK, and the US.

In addition to the presentation of the International Emmy Awards for programming and performances, the Academy will present special awards to CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour and to Game of Thrones‘ creators and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who brought to the screen the epic world of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series, ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. Since its debut in 2011, ‘Game of Thrones’ has been billed as one of the world’s most popular television series; airing in over 207 countries and territories.
This year’s Gala partners are: Phoenix Satellite Television, TV Globo, RT America, Ay Yapim, Ernst & Young, Deluxe, Miptv, Sofitel Hotels and Variety.
