Netflix ropes in Myleeta Aga as content head for Australia, SE Asia

MUMBAI: Internet entertainment service Netflix has roped in Myleeta Aga as content for Australia and South East Asia.

Until recently, Aga was with BBC Studios as acting EVP of Asia. She left BBC Studios after spending close to a decade with BBC group. In November 2017, BBC Studios and BBC Worldwide had merged to form a single commercial organisation BBC Studios.

Aga was earlier the SVP and General Manager, South East Asia, and India. She got the additional responsibility of helping BBC Studios’ South-East Asia business in 2017. She was also the SVP & GM India, Asia Content Lead since November 2009.

She was responsible for all BBC Worldwide’s businesses in India including, Production, TV Sales, BBC Global News Distribution, Consumer Products, and Digital. She also oversaw content across Asia and was part of the BBC Worldwide Asia Executive Management Board.

Aga’s decision to quit BBC Studios comes at a time when the organisation has brought its Asia and Australia and New Zealand regions together to create a newly formed Asia-Pacific (APAC) regional business comprising its international sales and distribution business.

Following Aga’s departure, Jon Penn has been appointed as the Executive Vice President, APAC of BBC Studios.
