Netflix India creative director Simran Sethi quits
MUMBAI: Internet TV network Netflix’s creative executive for India Simran Sethi has quit the company.
She joined around August 2017 and in her role drove a lot of impact. ‘Sacred Games’ was already announced when she joined. She oversaw the rollout and development of ‘Selection Day’, ‘Little Things’, ‘Ghoul’, ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Delhi crime’, ‘Leila’, ‘Bard of Blood’ and others.
India is clearly very important for Netflix. In total, the company has announced 11 original shows and 22 films. The company wants teams and leaders to be based in India. Netflix wants the series head to be based here. Sethi reports indicate didn’t want to move to India for personal reasons.
She will help with the transition over the immediate future.
Recently, Swati Shetty had Netflix asDirector-International Originals and Acquisitions. Subsequently, she joined California-based film and television production company Imagine Entertainment has Swati Shetty as the executive vice president, International Content.
