NDTV posts consolidated net loss of Rs 18.15 cr in Q4
MUMBAI: NDTV has posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 18.15 crore for the quarter ended 31 March compared to a net profit of Rs 7.5 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Revenue from operations fell to Rs 108.4 crore as against Rs 145.9 crore. Expenses for the quarter fell to Rs 126.7 crore compared to Rs 139.3 crore on account of rationalisation of people, facilities, and functions.
NDTV said that the EBIDTA for the fourth quarter is Rs. 11 crore before one-time expenses of Rs. 18 crore.
The television news segment posted an operating loss of Rs 5.36 crore compared to a profit of Rs 22.98 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from the segment was Rs 104.4 crore compared to Rs 142.9 crore.
The operating loss from retail/e-commerce business widened to Rs 5.85 crore from the quarter compared to Rs 4.27 crore. Revenue almost doubled to Rs 7.06 crore from Rs 3.57 crore.
For the full fiscal, net loss was down to Rs 88.21 crore compared to Rs 87.27 crore in the previous fiscal. Income from operations jumped to Rs 429 crore as against Rs 489.9 crore. Expenses fell to Rs 501 crore from Rs 572.5 crore NDTV
The TV news segment’s operating loss for the fiscal widened to Rs 6.78 crore from Rs 4.75 crore. Revenue increased to Rs 418.4 crore from Rs 482 crore.
The retail/e-commerce segment’s operating loss narrowed to Rs 33.9 crore compared to Rs 44.5 crore while revenue increased to Rs 18.02 crore from Rs 10.6 crore.
NDTV Convergence, the group’s digital business has closed the financial year with a net profit of Rs 20 crore and revenue of Rs 144 crore. EBITDA for the quarter was Rs 40 crore.
