MX Player launches on Amazon Fire TV Stick, Android TV
MUMBAI: Streaming platform MX Player is now going beyond mobile phones and will feature on Amazon Fire TV Stick and Android TV. The entertainment app offers viewers an online content library with multi-genre and multilingual MX Original series’, the best in class offline video playing capabilities and audio music all on one common platform.
Elaborating on the app being available on the bigger screen via these streaming devices, MX Player CEO Karan Bedi said, “With everytainment at the core of our product, our vision is to bring viewers content that can be streamed anytime, anywhere and at a screen of their choosing – be it on their handheld devices or on the large screen. Also, featuring on Amazon Fire TV Stick and Android TV helps us to both, consolidate and expand our existing consumer base.”
With the recent boom in the sales of high definition TVs across Tier II and Tier III markets, content consumption patterns have evolved with an increased appreciation of an immersive viewing experience. More so, OTT content is poised to grow with innovative technology that will make for immersive, experiential and engaging viewing.

MX Player brings a new Gujarati web series ‘Do Not Disturb’. This romantic comedy tells the tale of marriage, but through a keyhole and will stream for free from 26 July.
This six-episode series revolves around the lives of Maulik (played by MalharThakar) and Meera (Essayed by Manasi Parekh Gohil) who live with Maulik’s parents. Maulik is your typicalAmdavadi boy – loves food, respects traditions, partying with his friends, keeps his parents above everything and loves his wife.
Meera is a Gujarati girl and a Mumbai-chi mulgi at heart. She’s progressive, modern and adores her hubby. Do Not Disturb, directed by Sandeep Patel of Love Ni Bhavai fame and penned by Mitai Shukla Nehal Bakshibrings to life the intimate conversations between the husband and wife, the difference in opinions and the compromises they make for their love.
