Music streaming app Gaana launches smart downloads feature
MUMBAI: Music streaming app Gaana has launched a new feature called ‘Smart Downloads’ that will automatically download a user’s favourite tracks based on their listening history. This feature is available for Gaana Plus users on Android and iOS.
Smart Downloads will be automatically turned on for Gaana Plus users across the world. They have the option to disable it from the Settings and delete downloaded songs at any time from their Gaana app. Smart downloads also take care to not use memory if the user does not have sufficient memory space on their device.
Gaana CEO Prashan Agarwal said, “We are excited to be the first music streaming app in India to launch ‘Smart Downloads’. Our premium users can now access their favorite songs even when they are offline – whether during their outdoor adventures or flight travel. We have been testing this in phases since March, and it has garnered an incredible response. We will continue to improve this feature over time so we are able to deliver the most personalised music streaming experience in the country.”
Featuring more than 45 million songs across Bollywood, International and 30 Indic languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, English, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, Bengali, Assamese, and Oriya.
Launched in April 2010 by Times Internet, it is India’s go-to music app across genres and languages, offering unlimited, free and legal access to music. Gaana is owned by Times Internet and Tencent.
