Media-tech start-up Toch raises Pre-Series A funding led by Hyderabad Angels
MUMBAI: Esselerator backed start-up Toch, an interactive video platform using AI and deep learning technology, has raised an undisclosed Pre-Series A funding led by investors from Hyderabad Angels and other HNIs from various networks in their individual capacity.
The Mumbai based firm founded in 2016 by Vinayak Shrivastav, Alok Patil, and Saket Dandotia will use the funds to enhance technology, scale their team and operations. Vogueme Technologies is the holding company of Toch.
Toch is an AI video platform which auto-detects any object, person, emotion, location, scene and activity in real time, from any video content enabling monetisation.
The technology detects touch points, extracts meta-data to enrich content data points, and automates the meta-tagging process. Toch is a go-to solution for multiple platforms helping them monetize content and use meta-data for multiple data collection internally. Toch helps both businesses and consumers engage with users; bridging the gap between content and commerce through ad sales, product sales, brands, and advertisers.
“We have automated the decade-old meta-tagging opportunity and look to keep growing our tech capabilities. Toch is currently enabling meta-tagging for live sporting events, live shows and library-based content for streaming platforms and is venturing into broadcasting meta-tagging simultaneously.” While the platform is gearing up for a rebranded launch in the Live commerce category before the end of Q3, “the current round will be used to grow our market traction,” added Toch co-founder & CEO Vinayak Shrivastav.
Toch was a part of Esselerator, Essel Group’s start-up accelerator program to engage with the start-up ecosystem in India & the brainchild of Amit Goenka, CEO International Broadcast Business and ZEE5 Global at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL).
“It’s our goal at Esselerator and Essel Group to collaborate closely with start-ups and be a part of their success story, and we are very pleased to see the growth Vinayak and his team have managed to achieve in a short period of time. We will continue supporting them in their vision,” said Goenka.
“Esselerator has been very helpful for us in every way possible. Be it, industry expertise or helping us out with their network & infrastructure support, team Esselerator has been supportive and very pro-active throughout our journey. It’s heartening to see corporates playing a constructive role in the start-up ecosystem and helping it grow,” added Vinayak.
Esselerator is currently in its 2nd cohort and has already accelerated more than 10 start-ups. Within a relatively short period of time, Esselerator has been impactful in contributing to success stories like TOCH and is becoming the “start-up accelerator” entrepreneurs look at. It is a location agnostic start-up accelerator program which places it uniquely in the start-up ecosystem.
