Leading genres don’t see any major change in pecking order in BARC week 15

MUMBAI: The BARC India ratings for week 15 didn’t witness any big changes in the pecking order. Star Sports 1 Hindi is the top channel across genres due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 telecast.

Star Sports 1 Hindi is followed by Dangal TV and Sun TV. Zee Tamil also entered the table at the seventh position while Star Vijay was out of the list. Zee TV dropped to the eighth position. Star Maa and Big Magic have exchanged their positions. Colors and Sony Entertainment Television (SET) have also swapped positions.

Hindi GECs

In Hindi U+R HSM, the top four positions remained unchanged. Colors and SET exchanged positions. Sony Pal replaced Star Utsav in the tenth position. There was no change in the pecking order in urban and rural HSM.

In terms of top 5 shows, Dangal TV and Zee TV led the chart with two shows each while Colors’ ‘Naagin-3’ grabbed the fifth spot in U+R HSM. In urban HSM, Zee TV had two shows in the top 5 while Star Plus, Colors, and SET had one show each. The rural HSM table is dominated by Dangal with three shows followed by Big Magic with two shows.

Hindi news channels

Apart from Zee News and ABP News exchanging their positions, the week 15 did not see any major changes in the top 5 list for U+R HSM.

In rural HSM, India TV jumped to the second position, whereas, ABP News dropped to the fourth position. Aaj Tak, Republic Bharat, and Zee News retained their respective positions.

In urban HSM, News18 India moved to the third position while Zee News and Republic Bharat fell to fourth and fifth positions respectively.

In the English news genre, Republic TV moved to the first spot while DD India dropped to the second spot. Times Now, CNN News 18, and India Today Television filled the remaining positions in the top 5 table.

In English and Hindi business news genres, the pecking order remained unchanged.

Hindi movie channels

In rural HSM, B4U Movies has moved to the top position while Enterr10 has slipped to the second spot. The other three positions remained unchanged. There was no change in the pecking order in urban HSM and U+R HSM.
