Jayantilal Gada’s Pen India to launch four channels in April 2018
MUMBAI: Jayantilal Gada’s film production and distribution company Pen India is planning to launch four TV channels by 1 April 2018.
The four channels are Dream TV, I Love, Wow and BT News. All the four channels will be free to air and the revenue model will be based on advertising.
Earlier, Gada had told TelevisionPost.com that the company will launch three channels I Love and BT News in addition to the relaunch of MTunes HD. The plan was to launch the channels by August.
As per the new plan, three of the four proposed channels will be in the Hindi music genre. Dream TV will be a Hindi music channel featuring latest Hindi songs. Wow will be a music channel with a focus on classic hits. The channel I Love will be dedicated to romantic songs. The fourth channel BT News will feature the latest news from Bollywood.
“We will launch all the four channels in one go on 1 April,” Pen India CMD Jayantilal Gada told TelevisionPost.com.
For Gada, the first priority is to lock in the distribution deals. Once the distribution piece is sorted, the company will focus on monetising the channels through advertisements.
Pen has acquired music library from top music labels. The company also has access to the music library of MTunes HD, which it had acquired earlier.
