IPL 2019 sees growth in TV viewership from women, kids TG

MUMBAI: The women and kids viewers account for 52% of the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) total viewership in the first four weeks, official broadcaster Star India has said quoting BARC India data.

Compared to last year, the broadcaster said that IPL’s female viewership in the first four weeks of the tournament continues to grow by registering a 15% increase this year.

Average impressions for women have grown from 8.8 million per match in 2018 to 10.1 million this year. The kids viewership has also grown 29% with an average impression per match of 4.5 million.

With just four weeks in the tournament, IPL on Star network has seen 411 million (BARC (TV + OOH), Only Match Telecast Hours considered) viewers tuning in. This is close to the total tournament reach of 414 million last year.
