Inox Q3 net profit surges 2.8 times to Rs 36.4 cr

MUMBAI: Multiplex chain Inox Leisure’s net profit for the quarter ended 31st December has grown nearly 2.8 times to Rs 36.4 crore as against Rs 13.2 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.

EBITDA has jumped 80% to Rs 83.5 crore compared to Rs 46.3 crore. The revenue from operations grew 33% to Rs 433.1 crore from Rs 325.9 crore. Ad revenue amounted to Rs.56 crores, 38% higher than the corresponding quarter last year.

The top five films in terms of footfalls and gross box office collections (GBOC) were ‘2.0’, ‘Badhaai Ho’, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, ‘Simmba’, and ‘Andhadhun’ in that order. These films had a footfall of 64.22 lakh and a GBOC of Rs 142.88 crore.

The top 5 films accounted for 45% of Q3 FY19 GBOC revenues compared to 52% in Q3 FY18.

Overall footfalls increased 26% to 15.29 crore. Occupancy increased to 27% from 24%. Average ticket price was up 3.6% at Rs 206. Spend per head increased 5.6% to Rs 74.

During the quarter, Inox opened 14 properties with 68 screens during the period.
