Inox plans to add 37 screens across seven new properties between Aug-Mar 2019
MUMBAI: Expanding its national footprint, cinema exhibitor Inox Leisure is planning to launch seven new properties by March 2019. Post the launch, the total number of screens will increase to 37 with a total of 6445 seats.
The new properties will be launched in cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gwalior, Bhubaneshwar, Indore, and Jaipur. In Delhi, the new property will have 3 screens with 117 seats. The Gwalior property will consist of six screens accommodating 1009 patrons.
The Bengaluru property will consist of 5 screens with 1328 seating while the Hyderabad property will have 8 screens with 1678 seats. The Bhubaneshwar property will have 3 screens with 612 seats. The cinema exhibitor will launch two properties in Jaipur comprising 10 screens and 1273 seats. One property will have seven screens accommodating 723 seats while other will consist of 3 screens with 550 seats.
In Mumbai, the exhibitor will add two new screens at its existing property with 98 seats.
In 2018, Inox opened 5 properties with a screen count of 20 and 4036 seats. The new screens were launched in Mumbai Palm Beach, Cuttack SGBL Square, Zirakpur Dhillon Mall, Kakinada SRMT and Gurgaon Sapphire.
Currently, the company Inox Leisure operates 128 properties (512 screens and 125,508 seats) located in 64 cities across India. The boasts of a 19% share of the multiplex screens in India and 11% share of domestic box office collections.
The multiplex chain has also released the content slate for the films which will be released in next three months. The exhibitor has around 20 films that are scheduled to release by October 2018.
The film slate includes a mix of Bollywood and Hollywood films spanning across genres. The titles scheduled to release include Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 (27 July), Mi6: Mission Impossible (27 July), Karwaan (3 August), Fanney Khan (3 August), Vishwaroop II (10 August), Satyameva Jayate (15 August), Gold (15 August), Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se (31 August), Drive (7 September), Paltan (7 September), The Nun (7 September), Predator (14 September), Batti Gul Meter Chalu (21 September), Sui Dhaga – Made In India (28 September), A Star Is Born (5 October), Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (12 October), Badhai Ho (19 October), Namastey England (19 October), Mowgli (19 October) and Luv Ranjan’s next untitled project (19 October).
