Hisar to host GroundPost digital summit on 24 November
MUMBAI: Hisar will be the first city in the state of Haryana to host a digital summit. After successful events in Solapur, Indore, Pune, Patna and Agra, TelevisionPost.com’s GroundPost will take place on 24 November at Hotel Midtown Grand.
Hisar falls under the third phase of digital addressable system (DAS). Incidentally, the Hisar leg of GroundPost comes at a time when the government has extended the DAS deadline for Phases III and IV to December 2015 and 2016 respectively.
The Hisar event will see industry experts share their experiences of digitisation in the first two phases. It will also debate on how the industry can start voluntary digitisation and tackle issues like billing and packaging.
At the day-long summit, industry experts will give their views on a number of issues including carriage, content deals, opportunities, billing and packaging.
The event features a number of speakers from Hisar and adjacent markets. The speakers’ list include Fastway Transmissions MD Gurdeep Singh, Siti Cable COO Anil Malhotra, and TRAI deputy advisor GS Kesarwani.
The event is expected to be attended by over 200 delegates, including local cable operators (LCOs), independent multi-system operators (MSOs) and broadcasters.
The event will begin with a presentation by TelevisionPost.com co-founder and CEO Himanshu Dhoreliya. Fastway’s Gurdeep Singh and TRAI deputy advisor GS Kesarwani will deliver the keynote addresses at the event.
Siti Cable COO Anil Malhotra and other industry experts will share their experience with the audience about digitisation in the Phases I and II.
The remaining sessions will see discussions on Haryana’s potential as a big Phase III digital cable TV market, broadband and local challenges that the MSOs and LCOs face.
Adding entertainment to the event will be the cast of Colors’ fiction shows.
GroundPost’s presenting sponsor is Colors, with Rishtey coming aboard as the powered-by sponsor. Associate partners are Cisco, Fastway, Siti Cable and FoodFood.
