HBO India ropes in Xiaomi, Compass Trailhawk as sponsors for ‘The Meg’ premiere
MUMBAI: English movie channel HBO India has roped in two sponsors for sci-fi movie ‘The Meg’ premiere on 23rd June at 1 pm. The movie premiere is co-powered by Xiaomi and driven by Compass Trailhawk.
Based on Steve Alten’s 1997 book, ‘Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror’, a group of international scientists embark on an undersea observation program, only to face their worst nightmare.
Trapped in their damaged submarine in the depths of the vast ocean realm, they try to escape – but in the way is a snapping 75-foot long primeval shark, the Megalodon. Thought to be extinct millions of years ago, this blast from the past is ready to feed its appetite. But will Statham’s action-happy rescue diver Jonas Taylor go down without a fight?
On the marketing front, HBO India’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages have lined up activities for #MegonHBO.
‘The Meg’ the broadcaster added is an action caper that combines creature feature, with a dash of comedy and horror in the most entertaining way. This deadly adventure showcases visual effects that make the underwater experience and action seem life-like. The movie also stars Chinese star Li Bingbing and American television actor Rainn Wilson.
