Epic TV to discontinue HD feed from 25 Oct
MUMBAI: Epic Television Networks is shutting the high definition (HD) feed of its Hindi infotainment channel Epic TV from 25 October. With the discontinuation of the feed, the channel will only be available in standard definition (SD) mode.
“The viewers of Epic TV are informed that the channel will not be available in HD from 25 October. Call your DPO/Cable Operator/Service Provider for more details,” reads the scroll running on the channel.
It is pertinent to note that the HD channel has already been removed by few direct to home (DTH) operators like Tata Sky due to request by the broadcaster.
The channel has also informed that it is shifting from Intelsat 20 to Insat 4A from 26 October. It has asked the distribution platform operator to facilitate necessary changes for uninterrupted reception of the channel.
“This is to inform all DPOs that Epic TV will be shifting from satellite Intelsat 20 to satellite Insat 4A (frequency – 3925 Mhz, Sym Rate – 28500 Ksps, Modulation – 8 PSK, FEC 5/6, Rx Pol.H) with effect from 26 October,” the channel said.
Launched in November 2014, Epic TV broadcasts India-centric content ‘Tyohaar Ki Thaali’, ‘Indipedia’, ‘Raja Rasoi Aur Andaaz Anokha’, ‘Devlok with Devdutt’, and ‘Ekaant’.
The channel is skewed towards 15-30 age group male audience.
