Doordarshan Director of Engineering GS Kesarwani to join MIB
MUMBAI: Doordarshan Director of Engineering GS Kesarwani has been shifted to the ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB). He will hold the same designation in the MIB. Kesarwani is expected to take charge on Monday.
He had rejoined Doordarshan, which is his parent organisation, in August 2018 as deputy director of engineering. Prior to that, he was deputed at Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) as deputy advisor.
“Consequent upon his transfer in the same capacity from PB Secretariat to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in pursuance of PB Secretariats office order no. 426/2019-PPC dated 10.12.2019, Sh. Gaurishankar Kesarwani, Director (Engineering) will stand relieved from Prasar Bharati Secretariat with effect from 27.12.2019 (A.N.) with the directions to report to Ministry of I&B on 30.12.2019,” Prasar Bharati said in an office order.
Kesarwani will, however, continue to draw his salary from Doordarshan. An Indian Broadcasting (Engineering) Services Officer of 1993 batch, Kesarwani was on TRAI deputation since 2011. At TRAI, he worked on several initiatives related to the broadcasting and cable TV sector including the successful implementation of digitisation of cable TV sector.
Kesarwani has done B.Tech (Electronics and Telecommunication) from J.K. Institute of Applied Physics, University of Allahabad and M.Tech from IIT Kanpur.
