TRAI recommends MIB to mandate all DPOs to provide STB interoperability

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has today released recommendation on interoperability of Set Top Box (STB) for digital TV broadcasting services.

MIB directs broadcasters, DPOs to provide uninterrupted service to customers, stakeholders in value chain

The ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB) has directed broadcasters and distribution platform operators (DPOs) to provide uninterrupted services to their respective subscribers and cooperate with other players within the distribution chain.

ZEE5 Global chief business officer Archana Anand has laid out her priorities for the service in 2020. The key focus markets for the platform are Bangladesh, Canada, and the Middle East.

Star India defers launch of five channels

Star India has deferred the launch of five channels till further intimation. The coronavirus pandemic and the resultant impact on TV broadcast business is believed to have forced Star to put the launch of these channels in abeyance.
