MUMBAI: Hindi GEC Colors is planning to pull the plug on its two underperforming shows ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ and ‘Laado 2.’ Both shows are expected to go off-air after 25 May.

A source close to the development confirmed that the two shows will go off-air in coming weeks. “The channel is currently undecided on which show to introduce in these time slots. There might be re-shuffling of the programming. However, nothing has been finalised yet,” the source stated.

Launched in 2017, ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ is produced by Sashi Sumeet Mittal and features Sidharth Shukla, Rashami Desai and Jasmin Desai in the lead role. Within the few months, Shukla left the show due to differences with the cast and was replaced by Rohan Gandotra. Desai also left the show recently. The story was based on the premise of 2001 Bollywood film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and dealt with the concept of surrogacy and selfless love. The has been under the scanner for a long time due to its low rating.

‘Laado 2’ is the second season of ‘Na Aana Is Des Laado’ which was launched in October 2017. The second season took the legacy of the show forward showcasing the progress of its most renowned character Ammaji. Produced by Dhaval Gada and Shankutalam Telefilms, the new season featured Meghna Malik, Shashank Vyas, Avika Gor, Palak Jain, Adhvik Mahajan and Kanwar Dhillon in the lead role. The show detoured from its original storyline and introduced new characters, after few months of its launch.

The channel has two shows lined-up – ‘Naagin’ Season 3 and ‘Dance Deewane’ – for the release. ‘Naagin’ Season 3 will go on-air from 3 June whereas the launch date of ‘Dance Deewane’ is yet to be announced.

‘Dance Deewane’ is a dancing reality show which will feature 3 generations competing for the title. The show will audition contestants across 3 age categories- children, youth, and adults. All the participants will be competing in their own categories. The three finalists, one from each category, will compete for the title of being India’s ultimate ‘Dance Deewana’.

The channel has got ace dancer-actor Madhuri Dixit along with director Shashank Khaitan and Tushar Kalia on the judge’s panel. This will be Dixit’s second stint as a judge for dance reality show, She made her television debut with celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

‘Naagin’ Season 3 produced by Balaji Telefilms will feature a new star cast namely Karishma Tanna, Anita Hassanandani, and Surabhi Jyoti. The previous season’s lead actors Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan will also make a special appearance in the new season. The season 3 of the show will be on the same lines but will have its own twist and turns. Tanna will play a positive character like that of Roy whereas Hassanandani will portray a grey character, similar to Khan.
