Colors gears up for 2020 with unique shows

MUMBAI: Viacom18-owned Hindi GEC is all geared up for 2020 with a new line-up of shows. In the new year, the channel will continue its focus on varied content.

The channel will welcome the new year with an unconventional love story ‘Naati Pinky’ that will transcend the barriers of age, life stages, and background giving viewers a refreshing story that is sure to touch their hearts.

With ‘Barrister Babu’, Colors will bring another heartwarming story that is set in the pre-independence era that will defy set stereotypes and showcase societal battles that we continue fighting.

In the non-fiction space, it will bring back its flagship property ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi‘ featuring action-packed stunts along with intensifying acts.

In 2019, the channel’s key theme was offering varied content to the viewers. Colors strengthened its content offerings by narrating tales across a range of subjects that offered viewers a wide variety of emotions and managed to strike conversations around socially relevant subjects in the past year.

The channel launched a series of shows across ages with varied diversities blending different cultures into one entertaining mix.

Colors’ content mix included unconventional love stories like Bahu Begum, Shubharambh, and Bepanah Pyaar. With shows like Choti Sarrdaarni, Vidya, Shakti, and Kesari Nandan, the channel looked at various social issues.

As part of its strategy of offering varied content, the channel launched two mythological shows Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush. The channel’s ‘Naagin‘ franchise continued to pay rich dividends.

The other notable shows during the year included Vish- A poisonous love story, Gathbandhan, and Khoob Ladi Mardaani Jhansi Ki Rani. Its non-fiction line-up comprised of shows like Kitchen Champion, Khatra, Bigg Boss, Rising Star, and Dance Deewane.

Even as it launched new shows, the channel bid farewell to two of its most popular and long-running shows – Udann and Ishq Mein Marjawaan.
