Colors’ ‘Bigg Boss’ S12 to occupy 9 pm slot throughout the week

MUMBAI: Hindi GEC Colors has changed the weekday time slot of its tentpole non-fiction show ‘Bigg Boss’ season 12 to 9 pm. In S11, ‘Bigg Boss’ aired at 10.30 pm through Monday to Friday while during the weekends it used to air in the 9 pm slot.

The broadcaster has changed its timing strategy by airing the property during the 9 pm slot throughout the week. As a result, the channel will shift its existing drama series ‘Roop – Mard Ka Naya Swaroop’ to 10 pm slot, followed by ‘Bepannah’ at 10.30 pm and ‘Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka’ at 11 pm.

Elaborating on the change in timings, Colors programming head Manisha Sharma said, “The immense popularity this show enjoys and the demand from its fans for an earlier time slot encouraged us to bring Bigg Boss 12 in the 9 pm band. We have a very good line up of unusual pairings of family and friends from across India that we believe will appeal to a larger spectrum of viewers. Non-fiction content from Colors has always set a benchmark, and now with the success of Dance Deewane and Rising Star, our endeavour is to make the 12thSeason of Bigg Boss a chart-buster as well.”

Bigg Boss, which runs for the course of 100 days will feature a concept of ‘Iss bar aa rahi hai interesting Jodi’ for season 12. Hosted by Salman Khan, the show will feature contestants in jodis which vary from couples, friends, sisters to mother-daughter, saas-bahu and uncle-nephew.
