CNBC-TV18 sees massive viewership growth in week 5 due to budget

MUMBAI: English business news channel CNBC-TV18 has beaten the top 5 English news channels by garnering more weekly impressions than them on the back of the union budget coverage in week 5. CNBC-TV18’s weekly impressions of 727,000 impressions are more than English news leader Republic TV’s 654,000 impressions.

ET Now has more than doubled its weekly impressions to 266,000 from 123,000 impressions in the previous week. CNBC-TV18 Prime HD also witnessed a 50% jump in weekly impressions.

Speaking on the ratings, Network18 English & Business News Cluster CEO Basant Dhawan said “Union Budget is the most important event for our channel and our viewers. In the English news genre, Times Now has reclaimed the number 2 position from DD India while the latter has dropped to the fourth position. India Today TV has moved up to the third position followed by CNN-News18.

In urban + rural HSM, ABP News has replaced Republic Bharat at the fifth position while the rest of the table has remained unchanged.

ABP News and News18 India have swapped positions in rural HSM while India TV replaced Republic Bharat in the fifth position.

There was no change in position in urban HSM.

CNBC Awaaz and Zee Business witnessed bump up in their weekly impressions thanks to the union budget.
