Business news channels see growth in weekly impressions due to budget coverage

MUMBAI: The English and Hindi business news channels have seen a huge jump in their weekly impressions in week 27 due to the Union Budget 2019 coverage.

CNBC-TV18’s weekly impressions jumped to 0.63 million in week 27 from 0.15 million in week 26. ET Now’s weekly impressions rose to 0.33 million from 0.14 million. BTVI’s weekly impressions jumped to 0.073 million from 0.061 million. CNBC-TV18 Prime HD’s weekly impressions remained unchanged.

CNBC Awaaz’s weekly impressions jumped to 2.14 million from 1.79 million while Zee Business’ weekly impressions jumped to 1.1 million from 0.9 million.

In urban + rural HSM, ABP News has entered top 5 at the fourth position pushing Zee News to the fifth position. Republic Bharat went out of the list.

In urban HSM, News18 India and India TV swapped positions while the other three positions remained unchanged.

India TV moved to the second position while Republic Bharat went down to the fourth spot. ABP News moved up to the third position while Zee News replaced News18 India at the fifth position.

There was no change in the pecking order in the English news genre.
