Bigg Boss propels Colors to no. 2 position in urban HSM in week 40
MUMBAI: Viacom18-owned Hindi GEC Colors has jumped to the number 2 position in week 40 of BARC ratings for the period ending 4th October. The channel has got a major boost from the launch of its reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, which went on-air from 29th September.
Colors’ weekly impressions jumped to 43.6 crore in week 40 from 36.4 crore in the previous week with ‘Bigg Boss’ playing a significant role in this growth.
Star Plus and Sony Sab have dropped to the third position while Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has retained the number 1 position for the third week in a row. The rest of the table has remained unchanged.
Top 5 shows in urban HSM
Zee TV and SET lead the chart with two shows each while Star Plus has one show in top 5.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in Urban + Rural HSM
Colors has jumped to the third position from the sixth position. SET, Zee TV, and Sony Sab have dropped by a rank each. Sony Pal has moved up to the ninth position while &TV has been replaced by Star Bharat in the table.
Top 5 shows in U+R HSM
Zee TV and Dangal lead the table with two and three shows respectively.
Top 10 Hindi GECs rural HSM
Colors has jumped to the fifth spot while Sony Sab and SET have dropped to the sixth and seventh spot respectively. Colors Rishtey has replaced Star Utsav at the tenth position.
Top 5 shows in rural HSM
Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ has re-entered the table at the fifth position while Dangal’s ‘Baba Aiso Var Dhundo’ is out of the table.
Across genres Top 10 channels
Star Maa and Star Plus have swapped positions. Colors has jumped to the fifth spot from the eighth position. SET and Sony Sab have dropped to the seventh and eighth position respectively.
The total TV impressions have remained stagnant at 14.7 billion while TV + OOH impressions have increased to 14.9 billion from 14.8 billion.
