BARC’s new service ‘PreView’ to provide viewership data of programmes in 3 days of broadcast
MUMBAI: Audience measurement agency BARC India has launched a new subscription-based service called ‘PreView’ for its subscribers.
PreView is a custom product which gives BARC India subscribers viewership report of a broadcast event 3 days after the telecast. BARC’s weekly data otherwise offers data every Thursday for the previous week Saturday to Friday.
Broadcaster Star India has become the first subscriber to adopt the product. The broadcaster released the data of Indian Premier League (IPL) opening match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians one week ahead of its actual release using the ‘PreView’ service.
According to BARC, PreView showcases the strength of BARC India’s cutting-edge technology backbone.
As part of the service, BARC India will give the Impressions, ATS and Coverage data for 2 TGs: a) Universe data, i.e., 2+ for anyone market from the following (All India, All HSM, Single state), and b) one custom-TG (as requested by the subscriber).
Commenting on the launch, BARC India CEO Partho Dasgupta said, “BARC India’s goal has always been to deliver insights that help drive value for our clients. Our latest offering – PreView – is another product that will aid the growth of the industry. The fact that we are able to deliver viewership data 3 days after telecast is a testament to robustness and health of our panel and cutting-edge technology. This is in line with international standards.”
