BARC week 29: Sun TV regains top position across genres, Sony Sab becomes no. 2 in urban HSM
MUMBAI: Tamil GEC Sun TV has regained the number 1 position across genres in week 29 of BARC India ratings. It has replaced Star Sports 1 Hindi, which has moved out of the top 10 table as ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 concluded on 15th July.
Dangal and Star Plus are at the second and third positions respectively. Zee TV has jumped to the fourth spot from the sixth position in the previous week. Colors has climbed to the sixth position from the ninth spot. Star Vijay and Sony Sab have swapped positions. Sony Max has moved up to the ninth spot while Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has entered the top 10 table.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in urban + rural HSM
Colors moved to the fourth spot pushing Sony Sab to the fifth position. The rest of the table remained unchanged.
Top 5 shows in U+R HSM
Zee TV had three shows in the table followed by Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and Sony Sab’s ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in urban HSM
Sony Sab has jumped to the second position pushing Zee TV down to the third spot. &TV and Big Magic have swapped positions. The rest of the table has remained unchanged.
Top 5 shows in urban HSM
Zee TV, Star Plus and Sony Sab have their shows in the top 5.
Top 10 Hindi GECs in rural HSM
The pecking order remained unchanged.
Top 5 shows in rural HSM
Zee TV and Dangal’s shows dominated the table.
Hindi news genre
There was no change in the pecking order in U+R HSM and urban HSM.
Aaj Tak leads the table in both the markets.
In rural HSM, News18 India and India TV exchanged positions.
In Hindi business news genre, the weekly impressions for both channels have dropped.
English news genre
The top 3 remained unchanged in the English news genre. CNN-News18 and India Today Television swapped positions with each other.
The weekly impressions of top 3 English business news channels have seen a decline. Only CNBC TV18 Prime HD has seen a growth in weekly impressions.
